hello,

Any help with this query would be greatly appreciated.
Does anyone know if its possible to apply for a working holiday visa whilst I am out on holiday. I`m only in Australia for two months so not looking to do much work but I am a teacher and If the opportunity arises i`d like to experience teaching in Australia, so was wondering if it is possible to fill in the forms online etc.. whilst on my holiday:0)

kind regards,

David Hesketh-Cooke

I think you can but the idea is you have the working visa if your going to be out there for 6 months to a year, so you could waste a visa which you may want to use later on?

Thats what I thought and understood it as anyway.

No, you can't. You must be outside Australia when applying for your first WHV.

thanks, really appreciate the reply. I did think that to but I`m pushing the age restriction for the whv so don't think i`ll be able to get one again. Again thank you

You can. However, you'd always need "to complete a Medical and X-ray Certificate" when applying from within NZ, while this is only necessary for the 23-month visa when applying from outside of NZ. (See the table under the question "Applicants under the United Kingdom Working Holiday Scheme are given a choice to apply for 12 or 23 months. What difference does it make if I apply for a 12-month stay?" on this page.)

(Also, in the future, please start a new thread for new questions; if the original poster has subscribed to this thread, he's now getting useless emails for each of our replies. And it helps a lot with visa questions if you fill in profile information on your citizenship; I now had to look at your earlier threads to find out that you're from the UK and thus which NZ visa scheme applied to you.)
