Waiting period for Italian visa

Travel Forums Europe Waiting period for Italian visa

Hello, my name is Mirja Shahidul. I am a Bangladeshi citizen.
I applied for an Italian visa (Nulla Osta Lavoro) and got approved about 3 months ago. I cross checked it with Italian consulate in Dhaka, Bangladesh and all was fine except my name was misspelled.
It was typed MIJRA SHAHIDUL instead of MIRJA SHAHIDUL. So it was resubmitted to amend the mistake.
Now the person who helped to get the visa & resubmitted it, can't tell me a certain period by when the amendment would be done!
I am little bit worried as I don't know how long I have to wait & whether it can be done or not.
Does anyone have the similar experience before or can advice me on this matter?
It'll be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.
- Mirja Shahidul

In Italiano:

Grazie mille.

The burocratic mills in Italy grind veeeeery slowly...

The only thing you can do is keep phoning and visiting them over and over, making sure that your case stays on top of the pile. Other than that, there's not much you could: the problem is that you're not entitled to anything at this stage, even though the mistake is probably theirs.

Thanks for your reply friend.
I heard of that too. The slow processing of Italian authorities is well known.
I am just keeping my finger crossed and hoping for a positive result soon.
Have a pleasant day. Thanks again.
