The tube doesn't go to Gatwick Airport anyway. There is however a regular train service that connects Gatwick to London Victoria.

Adding to my reply above, I've just checked on thetrainline.com for 6th Feb, London Victoria to Gatwick Airport. When I looked there was one-way tickets available on the 9.17 (arr 9.48) and 9.21 (arr 9.53) for £5

thanks for reply
i mean from my house to the coach station, not to airport
if tube is available, perhaps just need 30mins from my hosue to victoria (for instance)
but what if tube is closed and by bus replacement, it takes 1 hour then

The train station is by the South Terminal. There is a shuttle between the 2 terminals if the North Terminal is required.
