Guys - bit of a daft question this !! I need to know which currency (Bolivianos / USD ) is predominantly used in Bolivia. We are currently in Brazil and found out they hardly use USD at all (not what the guide books say !!). Also any info on the regularity of cash points would be greatly appreciated !! Cheers !!

Hi,

For exchange rate try services like http://www.xe.com. In this moment it is 1 USD = 8 bolivianos.

In Bolivia they use bolivianos, so you have to change. Don't worry about cash points, use banks or exchange houses, there are enough.

Aitor

Although you will usually be able to use USDs to pay for hotels/hostels, tours and electrical goods, bolivianos are all-round far more useful. In the bigger cities (La Paz, Cochabamba, Sucre, Santa Cruz) you will find lots of cash points.
