I'm flying to Sydney tomorrow evening on a working holiday visa and I've suddenly realised that as I only get online bank statements I don't have paper proof of my funds, and various websites say you have to have a 'certified copy' of a recent bank statement.
Does anyone know how often they actually check, or if a print-out of my online statement would be okay? My only other option I guess is to go to the bank first thing in the morning, but in the past when I asked for a bank statement they didn't give me a proper official one either, just a print out.
I hate last minute panics, I'm nervous enough as it is!
When I went in 2005/06 I wasn't asked for anything.
I don't know whether they are any stricter now.
I would think that if you don't have any paper statements, they should be able to let you use a computer to show immigration online.
However, I wouldn't worry too much about it.
Hopefully there will be someone along shortly who has a more recent experience.
Print it your online statements out. Problem solved.
My story is similar. I wasn't asked for any proof in 2006/07. Print your statement just to be sure.
Have a fantastic time and check out my profile if you need any advice on where to go whist you are here
Thanks everyone The only problem with printing my online statement is that it doesn't have my name or account number anywhere, so I can't show it's actually my bank details!
I'll print it out anyway though, I'm sure it'll be fine.
Same here, went 07/08 didn't get asked for proof. A friend of my entered with just €500 and they just waved her through
My friend Stacey and I arrived in Sydney on October 9th, 2009 and was never asked to show any bank account info....I wasn't even asked to see my visa! We had all our documentation ready and didn't need it at all! Pretty lax arrival for us lol
