hey guys,

I am thinking of a 10 day trip to spain or portugal in the first week of april. Will it be warm enough to get by without sweaters, sweatshirt? i am thinking 15-20 deg C is what i can handle. Also, are there chances of rain?

thanks

i would say your best bet, since you havent listed the cites you plan to visit, is to go to weather underground and check.

http://www.wunderground.com

you type in the name of the city at the top and then can go look at the history & almanac of the weather from the previous year to get an idea. Put in April 2009 and scroll to the calendar near the bottom. it shows you if it was rainy, sunny, etc.
Was in Spain (Malaga, Granada, Sevilla and Barcelona) mid March of 2009 and the days were from 12-18C during the day and lower at night (needed a fleece jacket) maybe like 4-10C. But beautiful and not a drop of rain!
have fun!

In April, I would expect sunny and about hot most days in Spain and Portugal. Water will usually be cold though because nights are cold and it does not warm up the water sufficiently in the day time. I would wear a T-shirt in the day time and with a cardigan at night. Rain is unusual but not impossible.

I am in Nerja (Costa del Sol) at present and we had days into the twenties last week but this week it's cool to cold, with rain.
