Hi Peter,

I was responding to a thread in the "Australia" section titled "Sydney" and had trouble submitting my post. I kept getting an error message regarding the thread number.

When I left the section I noticed that my thread had been posted about three times.

Can you delete my extra posts please!

Thanks mate!

I also have just had this prob, i was going to screen dump it but you obviously can't do it on this, it was an error message stating that the thread number in the URL is invalid.

Which now seems to be coming up everytime you enter a post/reply!

Sorry about that! I'm not really sure what's going on there.. there seem to have been quite a few duplicate posts recently. I tried to recreate the problem but didn't have any luck.

Peter,

I am getting the error too for all the replies I posted. :(

The error is your custom made error (with TP logo, side menu bars, header and footer), not the generic web server- or CFM- generated errors.

It says,

ERROR!!!
the thread number passed in the URL is invalid.

It was displayed right after I clicked on the Submit button.
But when I clicked on the Refresh button, the error was gone and the content was displayed correctly.

Hope that helps you find the cause.

Cheers,
Hien

This is a slightly different problem I'm having- I don't know if its my rubbish computer or a problem with the site, but whenever i go into my message centre and try to reply to a message I get a error message saying:
"An error has occured in the script in this page" and something about line 294.

It won't go away so its impossible for me to reply to anything. Has anyone else had this or is it just my computer?

What browser are you using? It sounds like a javascript error and often these are browser specific. If you have an older browser, it may be causing a problem. Although we do try to cater for older browsers to some extent, it is always best to be up to date with these things (for your own security more than anything). Firefox is a great browser that I'm using most of the time now - it's 8.6 MB to download from here

Still haven't found the cause of this other problem.. I'm suspecting the server might just need a restart, which is a bit of a pain!

Phew! I wasn't the only one! I've been getting that error message for the past few days. And yup, there are probably multiple posts from me floatinga round the site as well

Peter, if I knew anything about servers and interfaces I'd try to give my "expert opinion," but since I don't, I will give you my complete moral support!

Cheers,
Katie ;)

Ok people, I figure it's a bit of code I added recently in an attempt to stop some other errors I've been getting notifications of. As that error wasn't so serious, I've just removed the code. Let me know if you're still getting the problem.

And for those of you who encountered this error, maybe you could help me with some information to track down exactly what was causing the problem. If you can let me know the browser / operating sytem (and versions) that you were using, that would be brilliant!

Cheers,
Peter
