Ok, so my itinerary so far is as follows:

Flying out from London mid march >
Bangkok [10 days] fly to >
Sydney [10 days] fly to >
Auckland [bum around for a few days] --
Jump on the Kiwi Experience bus (with a zephr pass) --
Nelson [stay with family friends for 3/4 weeks] --
Kiwi Exp various bus stops --
Queenstown [stop here a month or so starting 25th June (Ski season)] --
Kiwi Exp various bus stops --
Christchurch [5/6 days] >
Tokyo [10 days] fly home >
London

My questions are about general practicalities really, as I'm young, naive and this is my first big trip alone!

First of all... Do you think I'll spend most of the time alone, or team up with people on all legs of the journey?
I'm a pretty sociable/confident person, but as I am only 18 and don't really look my age I'm quite worried about going crazy in my head having no-one to talk to/wind up/drink with etc... Everyone says you meet people, but I don't know to what extent that really means... Even being confident, I'll be honest I'm damn scared!

Money-wise... I have £4000 for the trip after flights as they are being sorted through my BA pilot cousin ;)
and the zephr pass is £350 or thereabouts so that leaves me with £3650 - Is this gonna be enough for everything else? Or am I just being ridiculously ambitious?

Time-wise... Am I setting aside the right amount of time for each place? I really want to be in Queenstown for the start of ski-season festival ting starting 26th June, but there's a three week gap in between Nelson and Queenstown that I don't really know how to fill - should I spend longer in Bangkok/Sydney? I'm also worried that 10 days might be TOO long for Bangkok/Sydney, I know there's a lot to do but with a budget and no traveling friends I'm worried I'm gunna be at loose ends.

More specifically.... Tokyo sounds mental, I have no idea what to expect - any thoughts/recommendations for a music fanatic like myself? I'm also taking some cd's and hoping to pick up some filler DJ slots along the way (this probably isn't the right forum for that, but if anyone has any contacts in those places please PM...!)

If you've got this far, thanks for reading, I'd really appreciate any thoughts/advice you have.
Thanks,

Oli
