Hallo everybody,
will be in Hongkong in July for some days. Someone any suggestions for a good place to stay. Not too pricey but still good located (near Mongkong, and the Harbour) and clean.. for a single traveller..! Too many Hostels on web and too many infos... a total chaos...! So I hope someone made a good experience with any accommodation there...

I've been to hk 4 times, I never got to stay in nice hostels. I should have tried those YHA hostels or that hostelling international hostels... I've seen the brochures. Perhaps some people on this forum stayed in one of these hostels.

most people just hit the Chungking mansions and the mirador, I did to.

Sorry to tell you this but it is going to be hot as hell in July. The best times to visit Hong Kong are March through May and October through January. It will be colder and rainier in December and January but that is when there are Christmas lights and new year's decorations to see. If you do end up coming in July and melting dont blame me. Hope it helps.

Dragon Hostel...very good. I stayed there plenty of times. By the way, the heat is not a problem for everyone so I am not sure why this is always mentioned. 40 degrees doesn't stop me from travelling. HK is not the hottest place on the planet.

Thanks to everybody,
will check out the links and the dragon hostel on web.. so I will make a choice.. the heat will not be a problem for me.. came just back from the namibian desert (over 45 degrees), botswana and zimbabwe (during rain season.... hot and humid) so I will get along with the heat there I guess...
thanx for the advices..

Hi, you may choose some hotel which is small but nice in Hong Kong around HKD 300~500 per room per night.
Most of them a located in Mong Kok.

I don't know can I post the hotel name here....

FYI , YMCA TST ( nearby the Peninsula) is not cheap....

Hope you have a nice trip in Hong Kong! ^__^
Hong Kong is great ^___^!( haha)
