I'm planning to go on a six month travelling trip, but havn't decided where yet.
Which places would you recommend? And I mean anywhere.
Also, what would you consider 'must-do' things on a travelling trip - for example, living in a jungle, staying in a luxury hotel on the Upper East Side, going to a Chinese festvial...really, anything.
I want loads of recommendations and ideas so I can make my mind up based on a lot of great ideas.
So what are your thoughts?
I would add Panama and Nepal to the typical list. These two places were great. Most people head to Costa Rica and miss out on Panama. Nepal is thought of as a climbers mecca (which it is) but the country is beautiful and amazing. I will provide you with any info you would like.
Consider Girona for it is rich and dramatic history.

I definitely second the Nepal recommendation, especially great to visit after a bout in India. It's somewhat off the typical backpacker route (especially if you can stay out of the touristy parts of town) and is just a mind-blowingly gorgeous, interesting, and chilled out country. Never seen bluer skies in my entire life than I saw in the Nepali countryside.
I would agree with the above comment regarding Costa Rica and Panana, both great places and easy to travel. One country to consider would be china, i recently travelled there and it was an amazing experience. Guilin and Yangshuo are a must see. The language barrier may sometimes cause problems but in my experience the people are only to keen to help, very friendly. China is very cheap which is always an added bonus.
Ukraine - Crimea region
New Zealand - South Island
Canada - Rockies and the far Eastern Provinces ( Labrador & New Foundland)
Australia - My personal favourite
You might consider the Trans Mongolian railway, arrive in Moscow or St Petersburg - Mongolia - Beking. The Mongolians are amoung the nicest people I have ever met.
Apart from that I'd go and see Vietnam, Oz (particularly fraser Island and Ayrs Rock) and NZ south Island.
Problem for every traveller, so much to see, too little time!!
