At any given Santiago intersection, you'll see jugglers, tumblers or belly dancers all day and night. Buses are often inundated with people who think they are musicians asking for change for irritating passengers with their halfassed music. The "rappers" are the worst.

There seems to be a community of people who dress up like American Indians and play folk tunes on flutes, I don't know why, but they are common enough that they have their own flickr community.

The performers in Santiago were banned at one time, until the "went on strike" which included harrassing passersby and vandalizing everything...Though vandalism is a large pastime in Santiago anyway.
