I think you did really well to warn people. People always look for a 'sceptical' soloution when things like these happen to 'Other' people.
I'll take your advice on board and pass it on as I see fit. Someone once told me to be careful driving through the town of Thika in Kenya... 'They'll follow your car", they said, "and try to convince you that some thing is wrong with it". I of course though the the statement was far too general of a single town to be true...
That is until we drove through Thika and lo and behold it happened. But thanks to having had the advice nothing happened. So, all I'm saying is this: if one person reads your advice and learns from it, You've done your job!
And also I think the suggestion about contacting your embassy in Nariobi may actually be the way to go to bring this to a resolution.
