Here is a list of travellers currently missing in the Indian Himalaya.
Find out more about Jack Chan, Alex Ratnasothy, Gareth Koch, Tiziana Pellegatta and others here. If you would like to help please click here and download a couple of posters to put up. And If someone can put at least one up at Tribhuvan and Lukla airports that would be awesome too.
If you can help please get in touch with Lost In The Himalaya or email firstname.lastname@example.orgMM
I've merged the two threads you started due to their similarity. I hope you have some luck finding these people.. I seem to hear a lot about people getting lost in the Himalayas.
Is it common for people to go missing around the Khumbhu region? Thats a little unnerving. I'll be in Lukla in March, if no-one has done it by then, I'll post them.
Peter, that's fair enough.
WeeJoe, from my knowledge most of the trekkers who go missing are the ones who go trekking alone. By that I mean, completely alone as opposed to meeting up with other trekkers while you are out there and joining them on a trek. If you take precautions you'll be OK. If you want more 'expert' opinion (and I'm by no means an expert), register on the site (it's free) and you'll be able to access the "Travel and Trekking" section where we've listed over 50 different travel and trekking/mountaineering sites in different languages (including TravellersPoint).
Also with the posters we hope that people can regularly put up new ones in different places. That way the chance of someone who knows something seeing one will be greatly increased. So please whether you are already there or going in 6 months time please try to remember to print one off and put it up somewhere in Nepal.

I'll be in Leh airport in feb, I think it could help to hang some pics as well.
Thank you for assistance Cassi, and I hope you have a good trip too.
