Hi everyone! :) this is my first time to this website and can i say i absolutely love it! But i need a little help. I am 19 years old and i am at a cross road in my life. I took a break after high school b/c i really didn't know what i wanted to do with my life. Well i have traveled a little since i have been out of school and love to see different places and to see how people live. I would love to travel for a living, or my real dream to go over seas and help the needy but i have no idea where to get started or where to get more information. So that is where you guys come in. If anyone could help me out and give me a link or a number where i could get information i would HIGHLY APPRECIATE it! :) thanks for your time!

Alicia!

hey there Alicia, i'm in the exact same position as you-i am also 19 and am looking for new experiences, i have been working full time ever since leaving college and am working my way up in retail management-but what i really need is a break and i can tell you that this is a fab place to start-i also came on here and have found out so much info, i will be taking my first ever big trip overseas mid-late nxt year.

Usually once posting a post you will get feedback and a list of websites/links to companies involving i.e travel, places, sights etc-you know the usual stuff from people on here and let me tell you that it is soooo addictive on here!!

Well i will stop rambling now (a habit that i MUST get out of!) god i'm still rambling on...and on...

Well good luck and hope to hear all about your plans!

Ive never taken the course but the obvious role would be to teach English as a foreign language (TEFL) these courses are really popular and i've known people who have done this.

In terms of volunteer work, VSO (Voluntary service overseas) are a huge organisation who you should contact. I have two friends who applied to them and were put through the TEFL course and are now teaching English to young children in Eritrea, and loving the experience.
