I just watched Napoleon Dynamite. It was really weird but funny! Definitely worth seeing.

The Life Aquatic.

The Royal Tennenbaums was better...but Bill Murray was still great!

Some of the movies posted so far are ones that I really enjoyed:

  • Napoleon Dynamite
  • Shaun of the Dead
  • Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
  • Requiem for a Dream
  • City of God

I will also add to that list:

  • Angels in America

One of the most fantastic movies I have seen. There are two parts - I have only watched the first part - each one runs about three hours. Everyone should see this movie (or read the play - or both)

The Last Samuri was much better than I expected (but I am no Tom Cruise fan) Speaking of Mr.Cruise, I also enjoy Collertal. Shark Tale wasn't nearly as good as Shrek. And I just got the extended versions of the LOTR trilogy (very good:) )
I hate going out to the movies so I never get to see anything until it comes out on DVD....

Ended up seeing "Downfall" on Saturday - excellent movie. It's very intense, and there's this surreal feeling of seeing the human side of such terrible people. They were all human beings, not inhuman monsters - human beings who chose, who made a conscious decision, to be cruel and evil and to hurt. That's somehow far, far worse than being labelled a monster - because a monster can't be anything but evil incarnate. Calling the Nazi elite "monsters" takes the responsibility out of their hands.

All to say, it was a really good movie.
