Glad to hear you had a good nite out, Just think the next birthdays we will have will be on the other side of the world yippee!!!
Ive been thinking alot about the ozintro thing, and i still cant make my mind up, when i break it down and think if u want a fun well organised no hassle 1st week, then it is probably the best idea, I just cant make my mind up.
What do you think?????
Have you had any luck sorting out your luggage dilema, I have bought my flight bag last weekend, as all I want to have with me at the airport is my holdall and one bag to go on the plane, last time I flew it was to the caribbean for 9 hours and I had my flight bag, handbag, carrier bag with mags and water in it, never again too much hassle, so defo keeping it to one bag to hold everything I need for the flight.
I defo agree with you that the 1st couple of weeks should be spent sunbathing, sightseeing and having a jolly good time, I am so excited now I can hardly sit still.
For the 1st week there do you have preferences or ideas of which hostel you would like to stay in 1st, also I guess we should look into where to stay over the xmas/ny period, there are many posts on the net that say you should book well in advance so you are not dissapointed, as supposedly the hostels fill up very quickly months earlier.
Catch up with u soon
182 sleeps to go!!!! xx
I thought about Oz Experience but I don't know if I'll end up with that or just buying a greyhound ticket or similar. A friend of mine who travelled Oz two years ago didnt recommend Oz Exp, but I think I'll just sort that when I get there. Need to buy my ticket first!
Why didnt the friend recommend it?
Oh my god, that's right!! Birthdays in Oz woo hoo!!!!!!!!
I don't think I fancy Ozintro. I'm quite keen to explore and find stuff out myself to be honest. I know it'll be a great laugh and does take some of the pressure off what with them sorting loads of stuff out for you but I sort of want to just crack on and sort myself out. I think that's my independent streak kicking in ha ha.
Still not sorted out my luggage situation. I went to a shop yesterday to look at their holdalls on wheels as I've decided my suitcase isn't squashy enough. There were a few nice looking ones for between thirty and fifty quid which I thought was great. I saw a nice one that held about 80L, and another one that held 102L and I figure that's more than enough, surely?? It looked pretty big and I'm going to try not to take loads of junk. I agree about just taking one bag on the plane. I'm going to invest in a decent size carry-on bag for all my bits and pieces. A handbag just isnt going to cut it ha ha
I'm just waiting on some recommendations from a friend of mine about hostels in Sydney for the first couple of weeks and possibly which ones to book for xmas/NY. I think booking in advance has gotta be the bets option, if it all gets booked up I'd be devastated!!!! A lady at work just got back and she couldn't get booked into Sydney for the Mardi Gras so Xmas will be a nightmare!!!
So much to do, so little time!!!!! Christ 182 sleeps, that's practically none ha ha!!!!
I would go for 102L as then you will have more room to look for stuff and everything wont be squashed in tightly, cause i guess it would be a nightmare if you had to take half the stuff out just to get to a t-shirt...
That will be great to get some insider knowledge from your friend on the hostels, that will be a huge bonus to know that somebaody has been there and that they liked it enough to reccommend it.
Ive been pondering again today over the Ozintro thing, and i have decided that if u do go in Sept and u want me as a travel buddy, then lets go be thelma and louise, lol and go see what the land of Oz has to offer. xx
Yeah I think 102L will be better. Don't want to run out of space for stuff ha ha. I'll have to wait til payday but will invest in one asap. I need to actually DO something rather than just search the web for info, I still don't feel like it's actually happening!!
I'll let you know about the hostel recommendations. She's going to do me a guide to the best of Oz. That way she gets to re-live it at the same time, she said it was the best time of her life!!!!!
Are you on facebook? We could have more of a chat about travel buddies and stuff xx
