The amount of times i've heard that recently....i wish!! I think i'm just going to have a serious think over the weekend and come up with a plan. Either that or just buy a ticket, book a week in a hostel in sydney and just wing it when i get there ha xxx

That sounds like a bloody good idea, i was thinking along the same lines , as i feel like if i have another week like this one constantly trying to figure things out my head will explode.
Maybe the best course of action is to book the ticket, and just go and what will be will be....
U will have to Let me know what you come up with, xx

Hello Lou! and Gail :D
I'm also heading to Oz/New Zealand in September for 12 mths with a WHV, athough I'm leaving from Canada. Almost 2 years ago i travelled overseas independantly to the UK and did a trip accross Europe with Busabout spending almost 2 yrs away. I've been planning for this trip since i came back from my WHV in Scotland/Ireland. It was a goal i set to get going before my 30th birthday as well! Maybe we can bounce ideas off each other or perhaps if you have any questions i can help with.. I'm an open book!
Prehaps we'll run into each other along the way,

Sarah

Hi Sarah, well it certainly sounds like you love your travelling! Where in Canada are you from? I have relatives in Vancouver. I've been over once about ten years ago, it's a beautiful country. It would be great to share ideas and get together once we're all down under. Have you any idea where you're heading first? What are your plans? Xx

Good 2 hear from U Lou :)
yeah i do love to travel! Right now i am a bit torn as to whether I'll get a WHV for Oz or New Zealand so whichever one i choose will be my starting point and the other will be an in between travel destination (I might stop over in Singapore on the way over or back as well) I have travel friends i met overseas that live in Melbourne, Sydney and Christchurch (NZ) so I'll be visiting those cities for sure but i do prefer to work in smaller places so i don't blow all my money in the big cities :) The final plan is still in the works but in my experience the "plan" never really goes as planned anyways ;)
Vancouver is beautiful! I am originally from just outside of Ottawa, Ontario (and flying out from here) but I've lived in Alberta for quite awhile as well. Ever since I finished college I've not really stopped for very long.

I think you're right, plans never last very long! I'm trying not to organise too much as i know things will change anyway!

Hi Gail. I've had a great weekend thanks. Spent yesterday shopping and looking at holdalls on wheels for the big adventure, then went for lunch with my friend today and spent hours talking about oz ha. Think i bored her senseless! Went to buy one of the holdalls i saw yesterday but it had gone, not happy. I've been working my finances out too, looking for ways to save cash. There's a big exhibition on at the royal armouries in leeds next weekend called 'Down Under Live!' with everything you could possibly need to know about going to australia so i'm trying to get either sat or sun off work to go. Get yourself there, there'll be so much useful info, and the next one isnt til end sept when we'll already be down under!!!
