Ok, I just have to post this, but Sven Kramer just missed his lane on the 10km scating at the Olympics
Goodbye golden medal!
Normally I am cool with sports: you win some, you loose some, but this was just shocking to see and witness live on tv

Ahhhh... Sucks to be Sven.

Sorry - missed the event. Without cable or satellite - we miss most of the events. Oh, sorry, we get interviews with past athletes commenting on the games. That, and nothing but figure skating.

You have my sympathies. ;)

This should make you feel better.....Canada beat Germany 8 to 2 in Men's Hockey!!

Well, it makes ME feel better, anyways.

Michael,
I saw the re-play on tonight's Olympic broadcast. That coach is going to be in the doghouse for the rest of his life in the Netherlands.:(

Yeah, this one hurt. Especially because it was the coach that sent him into the wrong track!! I feel pretty bad for the coach too mind you, that's something you don't want to carry around with you the rest of your life! I also can't help but wonder why Sven changed lane though. Surely you're in such a rythm at that moment that you just know you are in the right spot?!

Ok, next day at work: at least 20-30 jokes and cartoons in my mailbox about this most stupid sports moment in 2010.
I've send some to you as well Sam...as you speak Dutch;)

On the upside: I wouldn't have had half an hour of laughing at work about all these jokes that pop up.

There are some good ones there! ;) Too easy when the word for 'job' and 'lane' are the same in dutch... and obviously there are a lot of creative souls in the Netherlands

Very bizarre moment. I was watching the split times on the internet (not broadcast live in Canada) It took me a few minutes to figure out what happened, I’ve never heard of the before.

A medal for de Jong though.

Of course it's all still peanuts compared to the little country up north which leads the all time rankings of medals at a winter olympics. Pretty impressive!
