Along my merry little travelling way, one of the things I like to do is take in football stadiums and the highlights for me, so far, have been the Estadio Dragao(Porto FC), San Siro(Milan/Inter) &, ahem, Easter Road(Hibernian). Does anyone else do this and, if so, which stadia would you recommend to fellow football fanatics?
I like the thread. I'm not sure if you just go to see the stadium or watch a game too. Anfield would be a great choice especially if you watch a Champions Leauge game. The atmosphere is onc of the best in the world. Its also an old ground which may soon be destroyed as they plan to build a new one.
Wembley is worth a visit. Ultra modern if thats your thing. Its easy to get to if your ever in London, aswell as the Emirates too.
I watched Bari vs Juventus in the days of Ravanelli and Baggio. One of my favourites was seeing Bebeto's last game for Deportivo La Coruna vs Barcelona back in '96 i think. It was a great game, great atmosphere, with some great players on show. Fratton Park to watch Portsmouth is a good place for a great atmosphere. Not so sure it will be good next season when they drop a division though!
I went to a Boca Juniors game in Argentina recently which was a great experience. I've also done a tour of the Nou Camp in Barcelona which is worth doing.

I didn't get to matches in Porto or Milan, just visited the stadiums, but i did go to a Bologna v Sampdoria Serie A game & an Espanyol v Valencia game. Very different atmosphere compared to the British game- the Spanish fans, in particular, were REALLY chilled out & didn't seem to care if they won or not! Bizarre!!!
