Quoting Wocca

For me, paradise usually depends on who I'm with rather than where I am. ;)

Otherwise; laying all day on a beach chair under a thatched umbrella at Calungute Beach, Goa in India ... looking out ocassionally at the Arabian Sea. Sometimes even going for a swim. Then sitting in some rustic beach shack restaurant eating fish curry soup laced with chilli pepper.

Paradise for me would somewhere that I'd start and end every day with a smile and good thought, discover new or beautiful every day, never be bored, have a place so quiet you could hear the grass grow but so loud you couldn't even hear the dj play, my paradise would be full of opposites , a bit of everything to suit every mood, still haven't found it...........

but one is actually the Arran Islands ( Innis Mean) in December with my boyfriend, biting cold wind that rattles the windows of the small pub, which for all intense purposes is a converted farm cottage, well it has a bar in the kitchen with a few couches and tables, what more do you need, sitting beside a roaring fire that has turned everyones cheeks red ( and no its not the whiskey or guinness ), talking to the locals ( some of who are absolutely crazy and some of the most friendliest people i have ever met), realising that after an hour I understand what the old couple are saying beside me ( they were speaking irish love lyrics to each other, it was their 40th anniversary), then as the conversation reaches a lull, the local sheep farmer takes out his Bodrun (drum), his daughter with the tin whistle, his wife with the fiddle and well a ceili (dancing) starts...... good memories..... after that heading back to the b n 'b (An Dhun), for a sauna ;) before falling into bed........... mmmmmmm

Hi Wocca,

Yeah, I guess that was pretty vague! I only meant it was the person I was with that made that paradise for a moment - despite the snow and the traffic!

Aaah Raven, youre taking me back to my childhood! My cousin Maeve used to rent a house on Inis Mor for 2 months a year over the summer and we'd all get the boat over and watch the dolphins jump out of the water in front of the bow with our wooly jumpers up round our faces. We'd hire bikes, and climb up to Dun Aengus (a hill fort) and look over the cliffs pretending we could see America. Brilliant.
