But we would bassicly have to buy the camping gear in Europe .. We can't really bring it from America..
And why would that be? Because of the limits on luggage that you can check on a transatlantic flight? If you got good quality lightweight camping gear it is really no problem bringing it along. You do not even need a car to transport it, it could go into your backpack. Buying at home is the better option, at home you have the time to shop around and compare prices and quality. On the road you got to buy what is available at the first shop for the price they ask.
