WeeJoe, I've had the opening lines of "If I should Fall From Grace with God" stuck in my head for a week. That and Harry Connick Jr.'s "Sleigh Ride." Plus that funny song from the Telus commercial where the poor iguana's trying to find his Christmas present... Um, that last one might be a Canadian thing...

Bob Dylan is great, too, if you can decipher what he's saying. I just can't listen to Rainy Day Women #'s ???? - makes you feel like you have to be rolling around on the floor and giggling...

I like so many different types! I like pretty much everything but opera, death metal and country (but even some country songs.....).

Some of my faves: Aerosmith (the winner of the "Katie's Favourite Band" award for 12 years running), Jamiroquai, Coldplay, Benny Goodman, David Bowie, Rufus Wainwright, U2, Led Zeppelin, Alicia Keys, Destiny's Child....I could go on and on. A recent fave has been the Shins.

I enjoy the poppy/clubby stuff when I go out, and I love listening to ambient/dark house when I'm driving. But now of course I listen to xmas carols! LOL

Cheers,
Katie ;)

Different stuff. But my beats of choice would be hip hop and r&b

Some of the local bands around here are fantastic, like Art of Fighting and Sodastream. I like a bit of Tom Waits, Nick Cave, Johnny Cash and Beck.. But M Ward is the absolute favourite at the moment! :)

I have some Irish neighbours, so my taste in Irish folk songs is really being refreshed.

I picked up a Johnny Cash CD in Thailand a few months ago. My father was quite a fan of him. I grew up in country New South Wales, Australia, so of course I'm a bit partial to country music.

If I were to visit the USA, I'd certainly make a beeline for Nashville.

Am absolutely loving Anastacia's latest album and that greenday song-Boulevard of broken dreams-great tune!

Has anyone heard the Johnny Cash song about the assassination of President Garfield? Whats the name of that one, i think its on the 'Murder' album, its a brilliant wee song.

Also, the 4 Hero version of 'Les Fleurs' thats on the Baileys advert (where they are all floating around in zero gravity gulping Baileys) is a cracking tune.

Is this the same Johnny Cash ... the country & western balladeer?
