Booking Problems

Travel Forums System Talk Booking Problems

I have booked accommodation at two hostels online through the travellerspoint.com and i needed to change my booking, so i contacted both of the hostels and neither had a record of my booking????
I am concerned that I have paid a deposit and my bookings have not been confirmed and now there are no other rooms available!

Has anyone had this problem with travellerspoint bookings before?

I have tried contacting travellerspoint but have had no response?

Hi Samantha,

I can see two bookings confirmed in our system. Sometimes hotel/hostel staff aren't on top of how the system works, which is most likely what happened here. The fact that you had two hotels with the same problem is quite unusual though.

We can follow it up with them and ensure that they respect your booking and also are made aware of how to do things in the future. I'll get on to this now to ensure everything is in order for you.

Peter

Btw, if you contacted us through the form at the bottom, it's probably just a delay while the email gets answered. We do generally try to answer all queries like this within 24 hours.

Argh, I hate it when this happens! Like Peter said, some hostels don't tend to have the greatest of systems :( Your bookings are made based on availability and pricing uploaded by the management of the property, and they have a contract with our booking providers to honour all the bookings coming through. They are notified in at least 2 different ways of each booking too, so clearly having no record of a booking is sloppy work on their end

What also happens sometimes is that the person answering emails isn't familiar with the internal systems so the bookings might be registered elsewhere without their knowledge. This tends to be the case when I've dealt with similar issues sporadically in the past. The bookings are then registered and the beds booked up, but the front desk is looking at some other list which is out of date.

Anyway, like Peter mentioned, usually an email from us clears this up pretty quick. Sorry about the inconvenience though!!
