Hi everyone,

I'm hoping someone can help me. I'm planning on running the Athens marathon at the end of October (2010) and plan on extending the trip and visiting Malta and Southern Italy as well. The whole trip will last around two weeks with about 4-5 days in Athens. I plan to catch a flight on a discount airline from Athens to Malta, and then take a ferry from Malta to Sicily and then leisurely travel by train up to Rome using a Eurail pass. However, I have looked online at the ferry companies and can't seem to find one with ferrys scheduled in early November. I realize this is the off season for that area, but can one still catch a ferry from Malta to Sicily at that time of year? I have heard that it is a very scenic boat ride and would hate to miss it. It doesn't have to be extravagent or plush, I just need moderately priced transportation by sea with a deck I can look off of.

Hi, I just checked Grimaldi and they seem to have ferries from Malta to Catania, Sicily year-round
Have fun and good luck with the marathon as well!
Michael

Unfortunately Grimaldi only runs between Malta and Sicily on Mondays. Since the marathon is on a Sunday and I plan on travelling from Athens to Malta on Monday I can't use them. Is there anything that offers more options for the early November time period? I haven't had any luck online.
