Can anyone give me information on LaplandUK at Bewl Water Estate, Lamberhurst in Kent please? The website makes it look really great and magical but, I saw a video on youtube saying it has been closed down and it wasn't worth it anyway to go. I am from Australia and my family and I are heading over to England and Europe at the end of this year for Xmas. I was really hoping to have a white xmas but I don't think that will happen in England??? I have two young children and I really want to make their xmas magical for them. We were originally going to go to Rovaniemi in Finland but that is working out to be a bit expensive.
The company in the UK is most probably offering trips to Lapland in Scandinavia. Ther is no chance of snow (or at least very little) in the UK during Christmas.
If you want to experience LAPLAND than there is Swedish Lapland and Finnish Lapland to choose between. I'd recommend planning a holiday in Swedish Lapland as it is less commercialized, cheaper, and more beautiful than the Finnish counterpart.
The town of Kiruna in Swedish Lapland is easily reached by a 1.5h flight from the Swedish capital of Stockholm. In Kiruna your kids can get a truly magical winter experience by visiting the amazing world of Ice Hotel in Jukkasjärvi (you can take a guided tour there even if you stay at a different hotel) and going on a fun dog sledding excursion where you get to greet the Alaskan Huskies and experience the beautiful, snowy wilderness that surrounds Kiruna. The sledding trips usually include eating lunch in a tepee and if you go on an evening ride you can watch the northern lights.
Have a nice holiday!
[ Edit: Sorry, no promos please. ]
had a look and a website is up http://www.laplanduk.co.uk/find-us.php
it looks like something would worth going to get that white christmas (but if theres possible snow best head to the north as theres hills and large grassland to appreciate the snow).
Don't go to this one though!

wow that is shocking, yea go to the one you first suggested as least it looks alot better and hopefully will be
Agree with MiaW that Kiruna is a fairly safe bet if you want a white Christmas, with a fair chance of seeing the aurora borealis as well. What you should know, though, is that Kiruna is a mining town, not a Santa Claus theme park (it is less commersialized than Rovaniemi). Do not let the mining town-label put you off, there´s lot of nature round Kiruna.
If Santa Claus is your main objective, go for Rovaniemi. If you want to experience snow, cold, the arctic night and nature, Kiruna is perhaps a better choice. If you are interested in the sami culture, you could consider the sami communities of Karasjok and Kautokeino in Finnmark*, Norway (but it will probably be more expensive than Kiruna).
- Both Finnmark and Lapland translates as "Land of the Sami people" (lap(p) and finn are old Scandinavian names for the Sami).
