Hey,

Hope everone is well,I'm off round the world in Feb, and am wondering the best way to obtain visas for China, Vietnam, Cambodia and India!

Does anyone know if you can buy these visas along the way, e.g. Hong Kong or Bankok. I am unsure wether to buy them from their respective embassies here in the UK, or to wait and get them later on.

Anyone have any advice? Would be much appreciated

PS I will be in Rio with two mates from early Feb so if anyone is gonna be ther and wants to mayb meet up then just gove me a shout.

Chris

Hi Chris

You can easily arrange visa's for all the countries you mentioned in Hong Kong or Bangkok.

Which country will you be in first?

Chrissy,

You will have to get your Visa for India at the Indian High Commission in Aldwych, London. If you do it by post it will take around 3 weeks (you must send them your passport as well) It costs £30. You can call into the Indian High Commision between the hours of 8.30am and 12.30pm Mon-Fri get a 'Q' Number and wait around, third option is to get an agent, these guys will charge around £60 and can get it back to you in 2 days in some instances. Check visaservice.co.uk or passportandvisaservice.co.uk

This means your passport will be back in your possession quickly if you have to apply for other visas or require your passport for some other reason.

I got a 6 month multiple entry visa for India at their embassy in Bangkok. I applied on the Monday, and collected it on the Friday morning. They did NOT hold onto my passport whilst my visa while being processed

I was under the impression that you had to apply within your own country but i must have got it wrong. If Wocca got his this way, then its evidently fine. Sorry for the misinformation Chrissy.
