Hi

I'm looking to visit Sydney for the first time at Christmas / New Year.

Ideally I'd like to stay at one of the YHA's, but rooms don't become available to book until the end of June.

.

The YHA at the Rocks is taking bookings now for the Christmas/New Year break.

Me and my mate are also booked into the YHA Sydney Harbour Rocks hostel. Booked it as soon as it became available. Definitely the place to be for New Year. Might see some of you there

P.S, we are there from 27th dec till 3rd jan

Hello everyone, I am also booked to stay at the rocks with another couple of girls, was just wondering if anyone had booked a ticket for the new year party on the roof yet or if you think it's a good idea price wise.

I've booked with the ticket for the new year party on the roof (a few others on here have too). It seems a bit expensive to me but, as a one-off, you've got to admit it's a great spot to be for NYE!

I've also booked the YHA the rocks for 29th dec - 3rd jan :D, we ummed and aahed a bit over the new years eve price for the terrace but decided it was worth in the end for the fact that you know exactly where you will be seeing in new year and will see the fireworks etc as have read on here that all the view points for the harbour fireworks get cordened off and are only availble on similar pre paid tickets etc. also if you went out to a club/bar or anywhere else you would still have to book now and the prices where coming up a lot more than this!
