Travel Forums Asia Two days in Hong Kong....

I've booked a two day/two night stopover in Hong Kong in September and i'm looking for ideas and suggestions of things to do, see, experience while i'm there. I'm staying at the Royal Plaza in Kowloon and as a single female traveller I could do to know where i'll be safe wandering off to! I want to explore, and I'm also interested in picking up a new digital camera, memory stick and mobile phone while i'm there so shopping hints and tips most welcome! Thanks, Lou

Hong Kong is safe! just keep your belongings becareful is fine.

I love to introduce the tourist to visit the TAI O , the only fishing village (should be? not sure , I am sorry ^^" ) in Hong Kong. Also you can find the Hong Kong history when you in Hong Kong Island.

This is the link of HK Tourisum Board, Hope its help.

If you want to buy the digital camera and something related , I do suggest you to go Mong Kok to buy.
MongKok has a lot of shop is selling Digital product and mobile.

Before you buy anything in Hong Kong if that is expensive and you don't want buy anything is fake.
Please kindly see the below links picture , the sign means that this shop is not selling any fake.

Hope you have a nice trip in Hong Kong ^__^

Here are a few suggestions:

-Take the tram up to Victoria Peak and watch the sunset and all the buildings light up for the light show.
-Go shopping at the Ladies Market in Mongkok (make sure you bargain with them!)
-If you get a chance, try to go to the horse races
-Causeway Bay is fun to walk around at nighttime - tons of shopping
-Go out in the infamous Lan Kwai Fong (Stormies and Bodega are fun places)
-Walk around Tsim Sha Tsui - shopping (more expensive) - and take the Star Ferry across the harbor
-Walk along Avenue of the Stars (there's a nice bar called Deck 'N Beer right on the water)
-Stanley Harbor and Stanley Market (they don't like to bargain there so be prepared to pay higher prices than the Ladies Market)
-SOHO, near Lan Kwai Fong, has tons of great places for dinner and drinks (and has the longest escalator in the world!)

Enjoy Hong Kong!

If you want to go to Victoria Peak, take the Star Ferry across from Kowloon. When you get off, follow others along the walkway and at the first exit on your right (before the walkway over the main road), you'll see a small side road with bus stops. A little way along is the No. 15C which takes you right to the bottom entrance for the Peak (and back). Queues can be fairly long (buy full ticket because you will want to go onto the observation deck to take photos) but there is little up there, so that most people spend less than 20 minutes before coming down again. The funicular ride is the most interesting thing.

The subway makes getting around HK and Kowloon easy. I never bothered with an Oyster card but had plenty of change with me. 7-11 and such stores are handy for snacks and drinks while out and about.

Stanley Harbour and market are real so-so. Make sure you have a tram ride while in HK.

Visit the Aqua Bar located on the 40th Floor of the One Peking Road building in Tsim Sha Tsui (you could get there easily by MTR subway) you will get a fantastic view of Hong Kong Island and the whole Victoria Harbour. Try to make it before 8pm to catch the Symphony of Lights show honestly it's unbelievable!

Have a good trip!
