Yes Wocca, that maternal instinct thing is rearing it's ugly head again. Guess I just can't help it...

Don't worry about the maternal instinct thing in this case, Isadora. You've put forward a very well-balanced case.

That's me - well balanced... Seriously, thank you - I appreicate your comment.

oh no isadora-that's your views and opinions-i respect that, we can't all be and think the same!

Thanks also for your comment. The world would be a very uninteresting place if we all agreed.

I do have a suggestion for those of you who have already made the decision to donate you body to science. Your body can have a duel purpose if you are willing to also be an organ donor. Not only can you help to save a life (or several), the rest of your body will aid in advancing science that much more.

I don't know about other countries, but in the US, the number of recipients outweigh the available organs by a landslide. Maybe by the time you kick, (at a very old age), the organs will not be useful for transplant... But, if they are - (personally) it is one of the greatest gifts you can give to someone else - the gift of life.

Ha ha! Maybe there is! Ripley's Believe It or Not (on the Gold Coast) has some strange artwork that was made from someone's toenail cuttings. Ew!

Do they have a postal address, soapsuds?

There is a place that does collect them... According to Nordic Mythologie on the day that the world ends (Ragnarok) the Dead will sail out from Niflheim (the land of Ice) in a ship made from toenails to wage war on the gods....

Just thought you might be interested...

As for the initial topic, I keep getting letters from various universities asking me for my body, because they want to find out how a body can function without a brain, but rely completely on spinal reactions....

The ship is called Naglfari, which means transportation of nails.
