Seems that things have been getting back to almost normal now. Some airports in Sweden and Norway are still closed and probably some more spread around Europe or something.
Some nice stories:

  • John Clees took a taxi from Oslo to Brussels for just €3,800
  • A Slowakian couple who were stuck in Taiwan and were missing their own wedding in Slowakia, got a wedding offerend of the hotel in Taiwan, including 100 stranded guests!!

These Norwegians really know how to stick it to someone :) He was on a TV show here on Saturday, and apparently really had to be somewhere else by Monday, so the assistant to the TV show called an old mate of his who was now a taxi driver. Pretty nice call to get I can imagine! Cab driver was reported as saying it was quite a fun trip as well

i wudnt say stranded, but i got caught out by booking two different airline for connecting flights. the first flight was cancelled, while the second went ahead. this left me having to pay another 230 euro to rebook for sunday thats non refundable as the flight went ahead. And the hassle trying to rebook was not even funny as the website gave a tech error and service centre is non contactable.

Motto of the story - booking connecting flights....book the same airline so you will be eligible for refund should they be cancelled.
