I tried out a 50 and 60 L and they look pretty ridiculous on me.

Since when is backpacking a catwalk ;)
I'm 1,90 and I'm happy with my 25 L, but if you feel more confident with a bigger backpack, that's your choice...
Only after your trip you'll know if you made the right choice.

and when did I say backpacking is a catwalk????? are such snarky and abrasive comments really necessary? different backpackers have different preferences. Packing a 25 L does not make you more sensible or strategic than someone who packs on 60L. As I said, it all depends on people's preferences and body types. I'm packing a tent and also a lot of grammar books because I will be volunteering as an English teacher for a month at an organization. That is why I'm not going for something as small as a 25L.

I'm with you gazelle01. I just recently talked with a friend who backpacked for a month and a half with a 70 L and he said it was the best decision he made. He packed a tent and he said it came in handy. He also said he didn't pack too many items so carrying the bag was not a hassle. He only took his tent and bare essentials. So yeah, don't sweat it too much. I'm taking my tent too and I'm going with a 70 L.
