Hello,

I will be in Pattaya from 27th february 05 till 14 march 05. Can anyone give suggestions on guided tours, because I would like to see the nature (trekking tour) or would like to visit a bit of Cambodia.
I will be travelling single.

Thanks a lot

You can catch a mini bus from Bangkok to Trat, Thailand then chill out on Koh Chang. After that , go back to Trat and cross the border into Cambodia. You should be able to get the information you need on Koh Chang or in Trat.Head for the beaches at Sihanoukville in southern Cambodia.

I'd have to agree with wocca. I love Cambodia, and Sihanoukville is a great place to visit.

The alternative crossing is via Aranya Prathet in Thailand, then to Poipet in Cambodia and get a jeep to Battambang or Siem Reap. Be warned, though, that the journey can be quite uncomfortable (unpaved roads, dust etc.)

Enjoy it.

Maureen,

guides and more especially guesthouses change all the time, so I wouldn't like to recommend specific ones. your best bet is to wait until you arrive and have a look round. there is certainly lenty of competition amongst guesthouses and you are certain to find something you like in your budget. Similarly with guides, ask other travellers who are there - best source of up to date information anyway.

Good luck with it, you'll love it.

I rode in the back of a pick-up truck from Poipet to Battambang.

The boat trip from Battambang to Siem Reap was really pleasant. Better to take the slower boat to enjoy the trip.

There's the "Rambo" boat from Siem reap down to Pnom Penh. Avoid the roads as much as you can They are full of potholes and landmines
