Hi all,

Im staring to plan my solo travels for somtime this year and am torn bewteen the two.

I went to Thailand last January, and spent two and a half weeks travelling about with friends, starting at Bankok and then through to samui, pangan, and phi phi. Im positive that you would never get bored of Thailand and that there is lots more for me to see over there. So Im torn between going back or leaving it for a while and maybe going to Indonesia instead to sample something totally different.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated, and like I said I will be travelling on my own, should this make any difference?

Thank you for your help

Thailand for sure if your going by yourself! Ive been to both places and Thailand has more backpackers
and a better party scene year round. Ko Phangan and Ko Samui are worth a look if you havnt done so.

when I was reading your post I though I got drunk last night and posted. I also went to Thailand last January for about three weeks and am now planning a trip to go back. I am planning on leaving September I chose Thailand again because from Bangkok you can get just about anywhere in SE Asia for pretty cheap. I am looking into taking a train from Bangkok to KL I heard it is pretty cheap. I will be traveling solo as well and I chose Thailand again because of the over abundance of Backpackers. If you haven't picked a date to go yet I picked September because that is right before the high season and prices are still relatively cheap on the Islands, Phangan in particular. up until the full moon party of course they all go up.

Good luck and cheers

Thailand has the best food!

Thanks for the info peeps

chrisvasil- I have to agree that from my last experiance of Thailand last year, the food was the best Ive ever eaten. Especially the seafood....... Its funny becuase, I cant stand the taste of seafood over here, but over there, oh man I couldnt get enough of it.

aaron-s- Wow man are you sure your not my doppleganger lol....same name, same time last Jan......same plan to go back. A plan for sept ish mite not be a bad idea, would give me chance to sae some pennies. And I hear what your sayign about getting to Bankok then using it as a base to fire off to other parts.

tarnasky- Yes I went to those places last time around. Maybe this one I will look into find afew other places to visit. Not sure where yet though, need to start some serious planning soon tho.

I love both countries equally and what I would do is spend a bit of time in thailand at the beach and then get on an airasia flight to indonesia for the rest. why limit yourself to just one country? the flights from airasia are soooooo cheap too!

Hi Arronpass,

if you think you wanna visit both country, Thailand and Indonesia, you can choose airasia for flight. It is low cost flight.
Which part of Indonesia you want to visit? If you wanna go to Bali, so.. from Thailand you can take flight to KL, then from KL to Bali.
happy traveling..!!!

Phuket is sooooooooooo overrated, its so touristy you get so much hassle. I got robbed from 2 hotel rooms! Completely ripped off. Its ridiculous, everyone is out to scam you, not a good time!
