I am embarking on my first photo expedition, we set out to Nepal in March. Is there any specific advice regarding photography, be it techniques, equipment, dealing with people and authorities and so forth that would be useful for some one in my positions.
I intend to take a Digital SLR and film SLR, and possibly a laptop to download my images.
Many thanks for your time and I look forward to reading your advice, happy holidays James.
Use your zoom lens to catch a couple of quick shots first. They may not be the best, but you definitely have to be opportunistic when there is a good photo available.
In India, I decided to photograph some beggars at major tourist sites. They were only too happy to pose with big grins when I pointed to my camera and some money in hand
I was considering an expose on "Happy Beggars", but that never eventuated.
Not a good idea to aim a camera at anyone holding a gun
