Ghost Soldiers ,Flags of our Fathers (those are the two I just finished)
I like most of Ambroses books as well...
This is too hard to decide!!
What is your favorite?

I think i have read all Ambroses WWII books, and they are good. I have read so many to pick out one is difficult. I like Stalingrad (and Berlin) for that matter by Anthony Beevor.

Being an ex-navy man though, the one that did leave me with a lump in my throat was "In Harms Way", about the sinking of the Indianapolis. It was strange reading that, because i knew what was coming, but was still left with a feeling of disbelief when it did!

Aha! My entire family is Navy:)..One grandfather was in for WWII (the other was Army) My father was in Vietnam, my sister was in the first Desert Storm...I read that also, unfortunately that is the book I did NOT get back after borrowing it out....Excellent book..even after reading it...I can't imagine how terrifying that must have been for them....same with the Bataan Death March. You can read about it, but to really understand what they went through...I think that is impossible.

Well, i think Ghost Soldiers might be my next read. I've just read some reviews on it and it looks like my type of book. Well, your families military history goes some way to explain your interest in the subject. My family has a similar background. My brother has just started the next chapter in our family. He's at sea now on his first boat, he's the first submariner we've produced - he must be mad

Ahhh..submariner...the one thing a woman is still excluded from in US service...Hard work..How old is he?
Hamton Sides is a good writer, you will probably enjoy it...Let me know when you finish it;)

He's 23 (been in the navy for a year), they tend to join the services a little older these days. Yeah, the same exclusion applies to females in the RN. I'm going to order that from Amazon. I will let you know how i get on with it.

Since I'm broke (no money, u know...), and that the tentation would be too big if I enter a bookstore, I prefer to borrow from the library (which is very close to my place! ) But when there is a book that I really would like to read, or re-read... Then I try to find it in a second-hand bookstore (cheaper, and sometimes better quality!)

I read a lot of fiction... specially historical fiction (with a nice love story) And at the moment it's all in English, since I'm trying to get better at it...

We just have the biggest book-store ever in Malaysia? Borders (from US)... they are competiting with local bookstores MPH, POPULAR and Japnese Kinokuniya. Sigh...Malaysia has a very small range of readers but with large and spacious bookstores? What's the point?

I Love bookstores. But I only read non-fiction.
