Oh oh, the only thing which I was confused about AirAsia that I flighted with my Daddy but they arranged us one at the seat 9D, other at 17B. They explained that we bought the tickets with the different codes (even the one who paid was me and I bought both tickets at the same time). In fact, I could not buy the ticket at the same code because my Daddy flighted from US-Japan-Thai then connected with AirAsia from Thailand to Vietnam. When he was in Vietnam, we went together to Thailand and later, he was back to US and I was back to Vietnam.

Anyway, in comparing with the price, the service is good.

Hello,

I've travelled with AirAsia several times and have never had any issues. Go ahead, you'll love it.

Their long haul flights are excellent - comfortable and enough leg room. I select an aisle seat on long haul flights but don't worry about seat selection on short flights.

I was looking at the London to KL route too. Very cheap one way. Especially if your quick enough to get a promotion seat!! :)

I went with AirAsia once, from Tianjin to KL, Malaysia. There was nothing wrong with the flight, and the price was great, around 750 rmb, all taxes and surcharges included. For the price, a little over 100 USD, it sure beat all my flights with Ryanair with comparable pricing schemes.

I booked that flight around mid March of last year, for early July of last year. I found many other amazing deals including a great one within Thailand for very very cheap, maybe under 100 rmb covering a great deal of Thailand, but just got that one aforementioned flight.

However, since that time, the prices have really gone up. I haven't found anything too appealing price wise this spring. Nothing under 1000-1200 rmb (WITHOUT taxes/surcharges) for another Tianjin/KL trip. After taxes, I just don't feel like paying 500-700 or more rmb (compared to last years deals), for a LOW COST company. In this case, better to pay a little more and go with a more known company.

I have checked a lot this Spring and there just don't seem to be any deals anymore.

And so has everything else!

"Better to pay a little more and go with a more known company"? Are you kidding - Air Asia has become quite well known, so well known in fact that when they have their big sales, the website gets overloaded from so many users. I'd rather pay less and save my money to put towards my trip.

Not true - Air Asia just had a big sale last week - I got a return flight Melbourne>Kuala Lumpur>Melbourne for AUD$258 including taxes. And Air Asia had a one day sale yesterday for free (or almost free) accommodation in hotels in several Asian countries.

Sign up and receive emails advising of their next sale.

Edited to add: I just checked Air Asia's website, put in a random date (25 March 2011) for Tianjin to KL, Malaysia -the price (including taxes) was 779 CNY - US$114.

Airasia is a great alternative for Malaysia Airline. Fast clearing and transaction periods & very cheap too. Their service very relax and not so formal.
