I'm flying Air Asia from London - Kuala Lumpur in Jan 2011 and then from Kuala Lumpur to Melbourne in May 2011. Glad there is good feedback on this thread because I'm nervous about flying with them. But we managed to get such cheap flights we couldnt say no.:)

I flew with with AirAsia once and I would again If I had a chance. First of all because of their incedibly cheap airfares! the planes are really comfy, the flight was ok.. AirAsia is definitely worth recommending to anyone in that area. I heard lots of complains about Tiger. Wondering if that is true...

Almost every flight I've had with them has had a problem.
BUT

the thing is not so much the problem itself 0 t is the high-handed and dismissive way they treat their customers in the event of a problem..

so long as everything is OK 0 you will never experience the total lack of customer care (and respect) that this company - especially the Thai side - is capable of.

My last experience with them - was enough to put me off for good - I hope! - On a flight to Bkk form Singapore - about 1 and a half hours we were "delayed" for nearly 10 hours - in fact the crew went to bed and left the passengers and one trembling member of staff to fend for them selves in a closed airport over night.

If you have a connection - even on a short flight - i would recommend you leave at least 12 hours (24 is better) leeway.
