Hi, not sure if anyone can help?

We have a big trip planned in November and as part of it we're meeting up with some friends who are honeymooning in one of the nice resorts in Ao Nang. We're rather not stay in Ao Nang, as Railay is much prettier and can't afford to stay at their honeymoon resort.

My only hesitation is that will we be able to see them in the evenings? Do the boats run through the night between Railay and Ao Nang? (as obv we'd like to have dinner/night out with them)

Boats quit running after dark when I was on Railay Beach. But they are now running boats from Ao Na Mao to Railay until midnight. 15 minutes, 60 baht/person.

Emma, it looks like you can have dinner with your friends and still stay at Railay Beach. Good luck with your planning.

Thanks Mike, that's great!

Midnight will be fine and if they want to party with us after that... well we'll just have to crash at their LUXE pad! haha.

Also, while I've got you on here, what's your recommendation for nice backpacker accom on Railay?

Thanks again

As you probably know, most of the BP type beach huts were ripped out years ago. Nice, more expensive resorts were built on Railay, not much budget left. Here is a list of what I could find in the area. I hope a member that has been to Railay recently will chime in with a suggestion.

One option if you cannot find anything on Railay in your price range is stay at Ao Nang, day trip Railay. Here is one place that won't break your budget.

Good luck with your planning.

My friend and I got a bungalow with aircon in Ao Nang for 500 baht not long ago.
