hi!
i work at an airport. i am a ramp agent...which means i toss bags on to the plane...oh, and i am one of those people you can look out the window and see, holding the wand...look there i am...hi!!!
i love the job. relatively intense physical labour (omigod people pack WAAAAAYYYYY TOOOOO MUCH!!!). i like those bags that are "100" lbs...good old check-in agents don't want to bump the customer's bag up into the next weight category...they are heavy 100lbs. (i.e. i can pick up some co workers that weigh less....).
by the way, i would recommend you pack all breakables very well...some people have tempers...and i wasn't exaggerating when i said we toss bags. just a suggestion...or better yet, go carry-on!
a nice perk of the job, in fact one of the main reasons i plan on remaining there, is the cheap airline tickets. i can fly anywhere that Horizin Air goes to for $40 round trip. yay! and other airlines give us some discounts too.
i also love working with all the machinery! little tugs, big tractors...one day, i even got to sit in the cockpit of a CF-18, i could have died!!!! i like planes :)
anyhoo, that's my job, i love it but it is hard work. plus, i don't have to deal with pissy customers, which is a major plus after having been stuck waitressing for a couple years.

While I'm at uni (I'm home on break right now but only 2 and a half weeks of it) (I'm jealous of some of you other students that get 4 weeks or so) I work with a special needs girl. I love working with her she is so sweet and it's flexible and pays well. I also have one flute student. Other part-time to full-time jobs I've had in the past include: secretary, banquet hall work, hostess, waitress, nanny, au-pair.

I'm currently on holidays. Just been away for a week, so "tourist" was my label.

Hey everyone,

Well I am a primary school teacher - not terribly exciting. Teaching little kiddies (year 4) can be exhausting but satisfying non the less. Anyways hate to brag but I do love the holidays - bout 11 weeks off a year yah!!!:) So now I just need to save more so I can go travelling in the holidays.

Cheers

My job is pretty cool. I'am night manager a of hotel. The term "Freaks come out at night", referring to my line of work. I seen sleepwalkers in the hallway, nude guest locked out their rooms;), drunk business people, guest having "late night" companionship, small fires, and people forgetting to shut the water while filling the tub. Stuff like that! Checkout the book "Hotel Babylon". It's about a General Manager telling stories about his hotel experiences at a 5 star . I wish I thought about that! Maybe not as big, but u get the picture.

I work for a national lottery distributer, giving money to charities. Quite a good job with flexi time and 27 days holidays a year which I am allowed to take whenever I want!

Bonus is that I get to see people's national lottery money helping people that really need it!

I'm a Town Planner.

Basically i decide what development can go ahead and also write the policy documents by which all development should be in accordance with, which all helps to plan towns and places.

It can be boring at times, like most jobs, but all in all i really enjoy it. I get to travel all over the County (not massively far but it gets me out of the office) and i know that the work i do actually has an impact on the places we live. it's great driving by something that you know you've made a difference to for the better.

Does anyone know how profitable the travel planning business is?

It would depend a lot on the skill & personality of the business operator
