Hellos guys!

I am very happy to tell you that I am going to study in Budapest next year!

While there I intend to do a lot of travelling around so I have some doubts about what doccuments I need to have with me.

I am a EU citizen (from Portugal) so I know that to travel to Budapest and from there to
- Slovakia
- Austria
- Czech Republic
- Romania
- Slovenia
I only need my ID card, right?

But how about travelling from Budapest to:
- Serbia,
- Croatia
- Bosnia
- Montenegro
- Ukraine
I only need my passport? No visas? And is the passport really needed? I assume the ID card will not be enough, right?

Thanks in advance!

PS: I read somewhere that to EU citizens no longer need passport to enter Serbia, just ID, is that right?

Hey, I did read in the Serbian press few days ago that the EU citizens do not need the passport to enter Serbia (just ID is enough). However, I would still double check this with the Serbian embassy in Lisbon (or elsewhere really) as I know how long it can take for the Serbian parliament to ratify any decision that the govermnet makes and even though this has been aproved as such it won't necessarily come into power for sometime. As for visa, you definitely do not need one for a tourist visit.
