There are numerous threads that are informative about the situation in BKK. From what I understand it is calmed down. I would suggest seeing what other members have posted on other threads or go to different news websites. I arrive in BKK in October and as of rite now I am not worried.

Protests are over. Most of everything in Bangkok is back to normal. Even during these past protests tourists still were flying to Thailand. If they stayed in Bangkok they chose areas not near the protests. Or the tourists just flew, took a bus or train to other cities in Thailand. The airport was protected by additional police and military troops.

Bangkok is okay to visit right now! This expat forum, the Thai Visa Forum, has up to date info on Thailand.

Good luck.

Hi,

My best friend lives Koh Lanta. They are taking a holiday at the minute they have just flown to Bangkok and working there way back along the coast. No problems she says tourists should not be put off from visiting.

Which is a relief because I am heading off to visit her very soon

Enjoy your trip
