Could someone advise me of the best way of transfering to and from London Stanstead into central London - lve got a job interview on Monday and need to fly in and out for the day and it looks as though Stanstead is my cheapest option.

Ive never been in Stanstead - been in all other London airports - and lm unsure of the transport links into central london - is there a tube route/train/bus l can book on to??

If I recall correctly, and I'm pretty sure I do, there's both a tube and a stansted express option. The latter (obviously) faster, but the tube wasn't that much slower given the price difference (I don't remember the difference exactly, but just remember it was big enough that I thought it was strange). I've also taken the bus before, but that took longer, and I guess I just generally prefer trains.

Good luck with the interview!!

to/from Liverpool Street Station.

If you get out of the building from Stansted Airport you can see various buses which go directly to the centre of London like Liverpool Street or Victoria Station.

I can tell from easy jet and Ryanair that you gonna have the chance to get the tickets already on the plane. Otherwise there are like little service points outside the building. As far as I remember the buses leave around every 20-30 minutes and it will take you about 1 h and 30 minutes to the centre.

p.s.: Check out the homepage from Stansted Airport there you will find further detailed information.

If you need fast, than the Stansted express is indeed the way to go, if you have some time to spare, you can take the bus. Note that you will arrive at Liverpool street 45 minutes after leaving the station at Stansted. From there you can take several lines depending on where you need to go. (if you say centre, I would guess the city line, but you need to double check that.)

If you want to save 2 pounds on the returnticket for the Stansted express, you can buy the ticket in advance from the website. I also remember from 4 years ago, that Ryanair sells the return tickets, with a discount onboard the planes. I am planning a visit in 2 weeks time, and I will use the train, like I did last time, as I am not a fan of busses, (and for sure not on a monday morning during rush hour.)

Good luck with the interview.

P.S. Tube is only an option from Heathrow and London City Airport. So not from Stansted, Luton or Gatwick.
