Teaching English in Japan

Travel Forums Asia Teaching English in Japan

I am tentatively looking into the possibility of teaching English in Japan. Do most people line up a job before they get there or is it possible/legal to look for a job once you arrive there on a tourist visa?

I've come across jobsinjapan.com; does anyone know of any other good websites for jobs there?

Also I'm quite keen on either teaching children or being an Assistant Language Teacher, rather than teaching a large group of adults on my own. What do the majority of jobs tend to be?

Any other advice or tips would be great!

You've probably already heard of it, but Dave's ESL Cafe is probably the place to look.

Good luck. ;)
