Ahem...it is not fair to run off and drink martini's UNLESS you bring enough for everyone;)
I have only been able to help a few through PM/travel help...I have been to 30 or so states, but that hardly qualifies me to help with them. I can only help out in the states I've lived in or visisted regularly. (which brings 30 down to 3) Not much of a travel helper now that I think about it.
Wouldn't it be great if we could make up our own titles? I want to be "Joz, Queen of all I survey" Or "Toilet scrubber supreme" or "Joz, the chick you must send ALL your chocolate too..." We should really give this some thought;) !

Thats right, there should be an additional category for us to put the title we think suits us best. That would be another way for us to get to know each other better. Good idea Joz! And dont worry, there will always be enough martini left to share with all of you girls

I have the same impression, Joz. I'm a travel "helper" for Canada, and Montreal in particular, but I'm usually stumped by the questions. Where to stay in Montreal on the cheap? How to get from Vancouver to Churchill by bus? How to get work in a ski resort? Damned if I know...

Strange, I know everything on the countries I am a travel helper for.

To answer the question Tway has raised:

Where to stay in Montreal on the cheap?

On the street. Sleep in a doorway for added warmth and safety.

How to get from Vancouver to Churchill by bus?

Go to the bus station, buy a ticket and ask a conductor, "excuse, I am unfamiliar with using buses. How do they work?"

How to get work in a ski resort?

Same way you get a job anywhere else, sleep with the manager.

...doorways...for safety and warmth, ok...look for the bus conductor, ok...sleep with the manager...ok, GOT IT!

That kind of domain knowledge is why I am a travel guru.

Dang, then I do need a new title. "Travel Guru-ish" or something. "Guru-like".

Ok, now Greg is trying to make me piddle!! This is too much for one day, my laugh muscles are sore!

Gee Greg - if I would have known the travel help advice was that easy, I woudn't have needed to spend time looking up links for people. (Though, they were very happy I did.)

I find the same thing happening as Tina and Joz - not knowing the answers for the N. American posts. I'm a travel helper for N. America but I've only ever gotten one PM - and I was able to help. No one wants to visit the midwest. (Maybe I should post a thread "Festivals and Other Gems of the Midwest", listing what is fun to do up here and when.)

I want my title to be "Empress of the Ethernet" - until I change my mind.

(Joz - people pee - puppies piddle - I have some newspaper left, need more?)
