Playing the lottery from a different country

I'm a UK citizen living in New Zealand and want to play the UK lottery using my online account, which I set up when I used to live in the UK. When I log on I get a warning saying that as I am logging on from outside the UK I should bear in mind that I should only play in a country where it is lawful to do so. Obviously lotteries are legal in New Zealand but is it lawful to play an overseas lottery from within NZ? I have googled it and not found much, and the explanation on the UK lottery site isn't clear either.

Bit of a weird question but if anyone could shed any light on it that would be great! It's highly unlikely that I will win a prize with the odds being what they are but I want to be sure just in case!

Interesting question indeed! :) I'd think you're okay given that lotteries are okay in NZ... not sure how they'd distinguish between overseas or domestic ones? Then again, this is just a gut feeling and certainly not based on any kind of special lottery insights I might have (which, sadly, I don't)
