I'm looking to go for my honeymoon in January. I had originally planned Phuket but after the Tsunami I don't think that's a wise idea.
I'm stuck for ideas now. Can anyone recommend or give me a good destination to focus on. Very confused. I'm looking for a place with beaches and being from Canada I just want it to be REALLY HOT!!!
Bali is a real cool alternative choice,Kuta beach is great for surfing as well;look at Singapore, Malaysia; also have a look at Goa on the other side of India with miles of quiet beaches and quiet lifestyle, a bit different from the bustle of the rest of India.
Another thought, January will be mid summer in New Zealand and Australia, couldn't beat that for scenery ans sunshine.
Bali or Cebu-Bohol is a good alternative.
There are villa in Bali like this for rent:
In Cebu, many nice resorts;
Please don't leave Thailand!!
We are in a big trouble. You could support us by spending your holiday in other safe part of our country such as Samui , Chang or Samet. Thai Gulf is safe.
Your indirect help could support thailand to recover soon.
Yeah, Koh Samui in Thailand is another good alternative. But for scuba diving and snorkeling, Cebu or Bali is better.
chorpet makes a good point, there are many place in thailand unaffected by the tragedy, and the country could probably use you money now.
Alternatively, Bali is a popular honeymoon spot.
Vietnam is said to have some lovely beaches (although I haven't been myself), as has Cambodia (where I have been).
Koh Chang in the Gulf of Thailand near Cambodia, is fantastic
