What do you reckon?
Ive done quite a bit of our wonderful planet, but still got a long way to go to achieve my ambitions of seeing everything I want to.
What is the sight I most want to see that I haven't as yet?....
I think that would have to be the stars through one of them big telescopes in the USA desert somewhere.

Don't now what your ambitions are and what you like but here is a list for you with some options, some of them I have been to. Now, I like remoteness, which explains the list partly;) Although it's not a sight per se, it's also about travelling itself and the experience I guess. Here it goes:
Bouvet Island
Pitcairn Islands
Churchill polar bears
Tuvalu
Trip by boat to Amsterdam Island, Crozet and Kerguelen
boat to st helena, ascension and tristan da cunha

Well, I can go on and on, but this is a start

Nice 1.
I've done Churchill, but didn't see any bears. However, I did see an arctic fox and the Aurora Borealis. I took the train from Winnipeg (it's not possible to get there by car, from anywhere). It takes two days.
Churchill has to be one of the most cut-off towns I've ever been too. I was there for four days. Got some fantastic photos - and the people were all local, just that. Hardly meet anyone that had been anywhere else but Churchill.

Couldn't give a shit about polar bears,or penguins or great field of ice, or stars in the sky. I've seen those things. Great wild herds of animals, moving across a plain, that would be cool. Pictograms of the Anazasi, that would be all right.

I am sitting here, with the cursor blinking, trying to pick out something that I REALLY want to see. Something that is a passion out there. I am at a point where the things I wanted to see from my limited bit of knowledge have been achieved. Only things I don't know about lay ahead of me now. I guess I better start watching more of the Travel Network.

Hey. If you've never seen it, the greatest sight I have ever seen, and this surpasses the trip through the Andes, is the Sabana Grande in Venezuela. A massive savannah, with these bizarre tepuis jutting out of the ground. Savannah below, and pocket jungles across each tepui. That was the greatest vista of my life.

Been there, done that - in Southern Africa (several countries). It certainly wasnt cool though.... Was jolly hot.

Mike

Would be great to see your travelmap here on TP! I like that myself as well, it looks just great!
So if you have the time;)
About Africa: I like the wildlife spotting, althoug after a while I am really dying for something else as well. Maybe that's why I like South America more. There is some great wildlife as well, though far less abundant, and the nature, beaches and colonial cities just make it one of my favorite continents. Going back in December for a Brazilian wedding, looking forward to experience that.
In general, for me Brazil has it all! Even more now that they are out of the World Cup beaten by Holland
