Yet another question from me.
We're arriving in BA on 14th Sept 2010. We are from the UK and so will be given the 90 day tourist visa / stamp. Almost immediately we're going to head across to Chile, hench leaving Argentina. Eventually we'll re-enter Argentina from Bolivia. This will be within the original 90 day period.
At this point, will we be given a new 90 stamp?
We'll spend some more time in Argentina before heading into Brazil. From Rio we'll travel down the coast through Uruguay then back into Argentina. I do not know whether this will be done within the original 90 days.
We fly home from BA on 28th January (total time 135 days). The plan is to spend some time in BA and surrounding. But head to Uruguay for NYE and back and forth etc.
We will not spend more than 90 days total in Argentina but I am worried about renewing the tourist visa. I didnt want to fanny on with getting a longer visa before we left.
I'm not sure on the actual regulations, but I entered and exited Argentina multiple times over a longer than 90 day period on the 90 day visa waiver/border stamp and had no problems. They gave me a new 90 day period each time I entered....
yup, they just post a new 90 day stamp each time. technically, unless you have a residence permit for a particular country, you are not allowed to spend more than 180 days in a year in it, but they never check, especially if you travel a lot and have a passport full of stamps.
Thanks for that guys. Its what I hoped. 180 days is 6 months isnt it? We'll not be spending that long in Argentina so all is well.
Roll on Sept 14th
Roll on Sept 14th
So jealous! I love Argentina And, what it's worth, I've had the same experiences- and each time they've seemed positively disinterested in my passport anyway. Quick look, stamp, next person. Enjoy!
Hi don´t worry, Argentina is a flexible country regarding inmigration -that´s why we are a mixied salad of many cultures- so you won´t have trouble. Perhaps you´ll have a to pay an extra charge at the airport while you are leaving, but it must not cost more than 10 dollars.
Have a nice trip
I guess you would be from the UK, USA or a country where you can get a visa at the border.
I am from Egypt and planning a similar trip but I have th get my 90 day visa from Egypt and not at the airport (not allowed to). Is it possible to extend my visa in Argentina before exiting, so that when I come back later after the original 90 days I would still have a valid visa??
Thanks for your help.
