Travel Forums Central/South America & The Caribbean which way to enter pantanal

i have some questions about which place is the best place to enter pantanal.

i had originally thought entering it from cuiaba as that's where the ecological expedition (a tour company) is located. however, i've read somewhere that it is more difficult to enter the pantanal from cuiaba during late january.

campo grande is another option as it is closer to sao paulo (where i am coming from) however, i don't know if ecological expedition will be available there.

any suggestion which way to enter is better at late january?

also, anyone been to pantanal during late january, is it worth going there during that time?

Since I was about to post a new topic on this same question, I thought I'd just refresh this one. Can anyone recommend which is the better place to explore the Pantanal? Is there nicer wildlife/trekking in one place versus the other? (Ciuaba vs Campo Grande)

Which brings me to my second question. What is the best route from Ciuaba/Campo Grande into Bolivia? I am aware that there are few good roads in Bolivia, so just trying to figure out the best way to get there without getting sick on a bumpy, 20 hour bus ride.

Thanks for any help!

Now it is the rainy season in Pantanal so most of the plains are flooded and access is difficult. Wildlife is also hard to spot. The best time for Pantanal is from July till November.

You might consider flying from São Paulo to Campo Grande and from there gettting a bus to BONITO. The region is very beautiful and there are a lot to see and to do. From Bonito you can visit the Pantanal for 2 or 3 days. Expect many people in BONITO because it became so popular but everyone likes it.
