I'm looking for inexpensive flights to Israel from either the US or from England. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Suzanne

Hi Suzanne,
How much are you willing to spend? Inexpensive is such a generic term.

Hello K,

Looking at fares right now (and I know that this is too soon to even think of booking but I'd like to catch any deal that is out there), getting from Midwest USA to Tel-Aviv is about $1400. I'd like to get it under $1000, and under $800 would be incredible.

We are also thinking that we might fly to England (probably London) and take off for Israel from there. We could spend time in London visiting friends and relatives either at the beginning or end of the trip.

Any ideas would be great. Thanks for replying.

Of course price varies depending on time of year flying.
As a guide I did a Jan 15-28 Fed 05
Chicago to Tel Aviv and priced it at $890.
So when you know better dates many options available either from home or UK.

El Air is the Israeli airline

They're usually pretty cheap

El Air is where I found the highest price quot! Do fares go down at some time in the year? Are there sales? I am not a student, a young person, or an old person and so there are no special deals there. Any suggestions are appreciated.

stopping over in europe will signifigantly reduce your fare. so will flying out of new york if you can manage that.

Are you Jewish, OR do you have any Jewish friends that might be able to make a few enquiries about discounted fares?

Yes, Wocca. I do have friends over there that I will be visiting. Do you have idea what I should be asking them to do? Are there Israelie or Jewish discounts anywhere?

If you are jewish, under 26 , and have never been to israel, than you can be eligible for an all expenses 10 day trip to israel through one of the many Birthright Israel programs.
